How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

The laser device emits a laser beam that acts on the tattoo pigments visible within the skin. The skin is composed of the epidermis, the dermis, the subcutaneous tissue and the muscles, and the tattoo pigments are found in the dermis. The laser breaks up the pigments in the dermis into particles, which are phagocytosed by phagocytes in the dermis and then excreted through the lymphatic channels, thus realizing the effect of tattoo removal.

The laser tattoo removal process is a non-surgical and non-invasive treatment and can be performed with virtually no downtime.

After the laser works its magic and breaks up the tattoo pigment, the body needs to expel the ink through the natural process of metabolism and blood circulation. Each laser treatment can only break down a certain amount of tattoo pigment, so you will need to undergo multiple treatments until the tattoo is completely eliminated.

Precautions to be taken during laser tattoo removal treatment

Angle of operation: In permanent laser tattoo cleaning treatment, the operator should ensure that the laser handle and the treatment area at right angles, which can ensure that the laser vertical irradiation, minimize the loss of light energy, thereby improving the therapeutic effect.

Special parts of the operation: if the tattoo on the eyebrows, eyeliner or lip line and other parts of the painless tattoo cleaning treatment, the light spot should be slightly overlapped and move along the line, to ensure the uniformity and thoroughness of the treatment.

Treatment of Spots or Moles: When treating spots or moles, the operator should treat only a small area at a time. The ideal treatment result is a slight oozing of blood from the treated area, which indicates a moderate depth of treatment and facilitates subsequent recovery and presentation of results.
Post-operative care for laser tattoo removal

Avoid contact with water: Do not take hot baths, swim, play in the sea or engage in water sports until the skin surface is completely healed and the wound is closed. This is because contact with water on unhealed skin can easily lead to infection and affect recovery.

Keep the skin moist: Continuously apply moisturizing products to the treated area to help repair and regenerate the skin and reduce discomfort such as dryness and itching.

Avoid scratching: Do not pick, tear or scratch the treated area with your hands; let the skin heal naturally. Scratching may damage new tissue and lead to scarring or infection.

Protect yourself from the sun: If the treated area needs to be exposed to the sun, it should be covered with a thick bandage. The skin after laser treatment is more sensitive to ultraviolet rays, and good sun protection can effectively prevent hyperpigmentation and avoid affecting the treatment effect.
